Analysis of the Enterprise Resource Planning Systems and Organizational Effectiveness among Staff of University of Ibadan, Oyo State.

Abstract
This study investigated the Analysis of the Enterprise Resource Planning Systems (ERP) and organizational effectiveness in work organization. The major objective of the study was to ascertain the significant contribution of Enterprise Resource Planning Systems (ERP) to organizational effectiveness. ERP systems and organization effectiveness considered relevant in this study integrated business management systems covering functional areas of an enterprise like logistics, finance, accounting and human resources and also integrates operation processes and information flows toward enabling the implementation of these practices with a view toward enhancing productivity, respectively. This study therefore, examined the effect of socio-demographic factors like age, sex, level of education on organizational effectiveness. The study was a descriptive research study. The study population was selected staff of the University of Ibadan. 150 staff of the university selected using systematic random sampling technique served as the study sample size, 50.7% of the respondents were males while 49.3% were female. The formulated hypothesis was tested with the Linear Regression Mode. Data was analyzed with the help of Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) software. The result of the analysis revealed that there was a significant contribution of Enterprise resource planning system to organizational effectiveness F(89,721) = 1.411, p>.05b, with an R2 of .072. The result showed that while ERP system had significant contribution on organization effectiveness. The study concluded that Enterprise resource planning systems was more appropriate in inducing effectiveness in work organization and therefore, recommended that the organization should strictly adhere to rules regarding operating procedures, maximization of profit, high productivity and technology advancement as the enterprises develops, grow and mature.

Abstract
In today’s competitive environment, organizations devise different strategies aimed at ensuring survival and growth among other set objectives. One of such strategies being adopted is outsourcing. This paper is an empirical study of outsourcing decision and support. Secondary data such as journal articles, textbooks and internet were employed for this sudy. It was discovered among others that most organizations engage in outsourcing for cost, strategic and political reasons. It was also found that outsourcing is now very popular in both private and public sectors.

Abstract
The study investigated the impact of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) on performance of deposit money banks in Abia State. The study adopted a random sampling technique which made it possible for all the workers to have equal opportunity to being selected as the representative sample based on the total population of the two hundred and ten (210), a normal confidence level of 95% and error tolerance of 5% was used. ANOVA showed a large F-statistics of 509.23 coupled with a significant value of less than 0.005 which indicated that there was a 95% confidence interval that the difference was accepted. The regression gave the value 0.564. The value using 2-tailed analysis was flagged as being significant with a 0.001 sig. value. Equally implied that there was a more than 95% confidence interval. More so, Since the p-value 0.154 was greater than 0.059 that was (real 0.154 > rtab 0,059). Therefore, the researcher found that there was relationship between CRM practice and customer satisfaction of First bank and GT Bank Plc. in Abia state. Also that there was an influence of CRM practice on profitability in First Bank and GT Bank Plc. in Abia state. Finally that there was an influence of CRM practice on the market share of First bank and GT bank plc in Abia state.

Abstract
Mathematics is not every student’s best subject. The statistics of mass failure churned out in qualifying examinations across the nation can attest to this fact. As a result, the study was designed to determine the factors that are the causes of low performance in mathematics for students of national diploma of administration and business studies of Adamawa state polytechnic, Yola. A sample of 250 was used for the study. A questionnaire was designed and administered to selected respondents using stratified and convenience sampling. The analysis was conducted using descriptive and response surface approach, all the factors used for the study were found to have effect on the students low performance, but only most leading were used for our model construction Vis: Phobia for mathematics (X1), Weakness of students in mathematics background (X2), Poor infrastructures (X3) which categorized (power outrage, lack of conducive hostel and classes accommodation and water problem). The model for the prediction was found to fit the data at (P = 0.000 < 0.05).

A Critical Appraisal of our Vocational and Technical Education System in Nigeria

Abstract
This study examined and appraised the Vocational and Technical Education system in Nigeria with a view to determining its prospects and the challenges. The research method adopted for this study was survey and documentary analysis. The survey research involved collection of data from existing records and findings of the opinion on the subject through the use of structured questionnaire. Stratified sampling technique was used to select the respondents for the study. The instrument was validated and pilot-tested to ascertain the internal consistency. The population for the study comprised staff of Vocational and Technical Training Institutions in some zones in Nigeria. Stratified proportional random sampling technique was used to select a total of 170 Technical Instructors, Graduates of Vocational Training Institutions and current students of Vocational Training Institutions for the study. Out of this number 150 responded to the questionnaire for the study. The internal consistency of the questionnaire was determined using Cronbach Alpha. The reliability coefficient of the questionnaire was 0.74. Data obtained were analyzed using mean, frequency count, percentages and one-way analysis of variance. A large proportion of the respondents indicate that the existing Vocational Training Institutions in the country are not only ill equipped, they lack the required orientations to industrial needs. The Technical Colleges are preparing students who could not function in industry because of lack of modern equipment in the institutions. The study is of the view that strong case be made to give special attention to the planning and development of our Vocational Institution Curricula. This exercise should preoccupy our thinking for the establishment of a Vocational training system that will meet and provide multi-skilled level work force to match an expanding economy and keeping the workforce trained and retrained in a changing economy and technology.

Assessment of Public Policy Formulation and Implementation in Nigerian Local Governments

Abstract
Public policy is the process of articulating, formulating and implementing government developmental policies or intention and programs for the benefits of citizens. It is an attempt by government to address a public issue by instituting laws, regulations, decisions or action pertinent to the problem at hand with a view to enhancing standard of living of the people. This paper therefore, focused on assessing the formulation and implementation of public policies in the local governments. It was found out that public policy formulation and implementation is done only at federal and state government levels. It is therefore a recommended that for hope to be given to the grassroots is to ensure that there is a discussion forum or a constitutional review to look into public policy formulation and implementation in the local government and that government becomes more sensitive and responsive in formulation and implementation of public policy decisions that will touch the lives of the local populace directly.

Effect of External Debt on Nigeria’s Economic Growth: An Empirical Study

Abstract
The study investigated the effect of external debt on the economic growth of Nigeria. The model built for the study proxy Gross Domestic Product(GDP) as the dependent and external debt stock, external debt service payment and external reserve as the independent variables. Annual time series data was gathered from the Central Bank of Nigeria Statistical Bulletin and the World Bank Data from1986 -2011. The econometrics technique of regression analysis (OLS) was employed in the empirical analysis the result of the findings showed that external debt stock and external debt service payment is negatively related to Nigeria economic growth while external reserve showed a positive relationship with the Nigeria economic growth. It was recommended that the monetary authorities should monitor the activities of the debt management office to make sure that external debt is acquired for economic reasons.

Abstract
This paper considers the nature of the Knowledge Economy and outline the issues related to facts to be considered with highest significance in contemporary information age of any organisation. The paper offers an opportunity to reflect the role of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT). This goes away from just simply being mechanisms for storing, retrieving, manipulating and moving of an increasingly complex data and information sources hence it looks at information age, changing perspective on learning more diverse pedagogical context, the concept of change and change scale in organisations and concludes that knowledge economy is the centre key of organizational resource which raise the professional profile of organizations then uphold a greater degree of individual autonomy and responsibility.

Impact of First Bank of Nigeria Plc on Financing Small and Medium Scale Enterprises in Gombe and Bauchi State, Nigeria

Abstract
This study assessed the Impact of First Bank of Nigeria Plc on Financing SMSEs in Bauchi and Gombe States, Nigeria. The survey research design was adopted and Instrument of data collection is questionnaires and personal interview which formed the source of primary data, while materials from various published financial statements of FBN Ltd and Annual accounts of SMSEs formed the secondary data. The data is analyzed by means of frequency distribution table and percentage while the hypotheses were tested using regression analysis. The decisions of the significant impact were based on 0.05% level of significance. The major finding of the research is the bank contributes a lot to the continued survival of SMSEs in the states .Based on the finding, the study concludes that FBN Plc impact positively to the growth and survival of SMSEs in the State, Based on the conclusion the study recommends the bank. It is also recommended that SMSEs, Central Bank of Nigeria and the Government to do more to encourage and direct the bank to do more. Also there is need to enlighten the SMSEs operators on the amount set aside for their usage.

Local Government Administration: A Catalyst for Rural Development

Abstract
Local government Administration is necessary, if not sufficient condition for accelerated development which emphasizes improvement in the productivity and welfare of the rural majority. It posits of representative councils with substantial control over local affairs, for the provision of services and implementation of project in their localities so as to complement the efforts of both State and Federal Government being they to the policy of centralization. It is in view of this understanding that this paper is posed to analyse the antecedence for the creation of local government in Nigeria, Justification for the creation of local councils, capacity building and major factors affecting the effective responsiveness of local government in Nigeria.
